More Than Enough – Day 13

April 19, 2013

Jeremiah is called the “weeping prophet”.  He writes the book of Lamentations as one who pours out his heart like water in the Presence of the Lord.  His tears flow like a river because of the destruction of his beloved Jerusalem.  Because of sin and disobedience the judgment of God comes upon His people.  Yet in the midst of all this darkness, Jeremiah makes a declaration of truth that shines like the brightness of a beautiful day:  22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”  25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Thank you Lord that no matter how dark things look, you break through into our lives with Your love, compassion and faithfulness!   We celebrate that You are a God who is “more than enough” to meet all my needs!  Lord, today I ask you to comfort all those who are walking through a “dark night”.
